Red Tails

"Red Tails" tells the story of the Tuskegee Airmen, the first African-American pilots to fly in a combat squadron during World War II, as they face racism and prejudice while serving in the USAAF's 332nd Fighter Group based in southern Italy. The film follows the tight-knit group of pilots, including Captain Martin "Easy" Julian, 1st Lt. Joe "Lightning" Little, and 2nd Lt. Ray "Ray Gun" Gannon, as they battle Messerschmitt Bf 109 fighters led by a German ace pilot nicknamed "Pretty Boy." As the Tuskegee Airmen earn the respect of their white counterparts and prove themselves in combat, they face personal struggles and ultimate tragedy.
