Les filles du soleil

The film "Les filles du soleil" (2018) follows the story of Bahar, a Kurdish female soldier played by Golshifteh Farahani, who leads the Gordyene Unit, a women's resistance militia composed of former captives of ISIS. The story is framed by French war reporter Mathilde (Emmanuelle Bercot), who travels to Kurdistan to meet Kurdish resistance groups. As Bahar's story unfolds, it flashes back to her life before the war, where she witnesses the horrors of ISIS's takeover and the loss of her loved ones.
