Fûzen no tomoshibi

In this 1957 Japanese comedy film, three young hoodlums attempt to rob the Satō family home, but their plans are continually thwarted by a stream of visitors, including Yuriko's sister Sakura, who tries to borrow money, and a mysterious lodger who claims to know Kaneshige from student days. The would-be burglars are eventually foiled when the mysterious Akama, who turns out to be a wanted criminal, arrives and demands the Satō's savings. The police arrive just in time to arrest Akama, and the trio gives up their plan. Meanwhile, the reluctant Kohei can be spotted making a report at the police station.
