The Midnight Sky

George Clooney stars as Augustine Lofthouse, a reclusive academic who must venture across the Arctic Circle to warn a returning interplanetary spaceship following a global catastrophe on Earth. Along the way, he forms a relationship with a mute girl, Iris, who he believes is the daughter of a woman he previously met, and tries to contact a crew of astronauts returning home to warn them about the impending disaster. With his deteriorating physical health and mental blackouts, Lofthouse must navigate the treacherous terrain to reach a larger base and make contact with the astronauts, who are oblivious to the events unfolding on Earth.
