City by the Sea

Vincent LaMarca (Robert De Niro), a veteran New York City Police Department detective, must confront his troubled past when his estranged son Joey, a homeless junkie, is implicated in a drug-related killing in Long Beach, New York. With the help of his police partner Reg, Vincent sets out to clear his son's name and find the real killer, ultimately discovering that the ruthless local drug enforcer Spyder is responsible for the murders. As Vincent's search for the truth puts his son in harm's way, he must choose between his duty as a police officer and his love and loyalty to his family, including his young grandson Angelo, whose future hangs in the balance.
