Stranger on the Third Floor

Newspaper reporter Michael Ward (John McGuire) is the key witness in a murder trial, whose evidence helps convict Joe Briggs (Elisha Cook Jr.). Afterward, Ward's fiancée Jane (Margaret Tallichet) begins worrying that Ward may not have been correct in what he saw, leading to a terrifying dream sequence where Ward's neighbor is murdered, mirroring the crime at the diner. Ward's innocent protagonist becomes desperate to clear himself after being falsely accused, and with Jane's help, they uncover the identity of the stranger who committed the crimes, ultimately leading to a thrilling conclusion.
