Svolochi

"Svolochi" is a 2006 Russian coming-of-age war film set in the Soviet Union during the Second World War. A group of teenage convicts, trained by Colonel Anton Vishnevetsky, are sent on a guerrilla mission to stop the actions of a German army group called "Edelweiss". The film's plot, written by Vladimir Kunin, follows these young saboteurs as they face a certain death in the German countryside. The film sparked controversy in Russia, with critics claiming it was "state-supported anti-Soviet propaganda".
