In the harsh Tibetan mountains, a group of vigilante rangers, led by "Ritai" (Duo Bujie), protect the endangered Tibetan antelope from poachers. Reporter Ga Yu (Zhang Lei) joins the patrol, investigating the poachers and learning about the harsh conditions and culture of honor that define the rangers' way of life. The team faces numerous challenges, including capturing a family of poachers, releasing them, and then tracking down their leader, Ritai, who is ultimately killed in a confrontation. Through its realistic, detached style, the film evokes the dramatic Western genre, capturing the rugged, majestic landscape and the characters' deep love for their homeland.
