Nan hai shi san lang

Tse Kwan-ho plays Kong Yu-Kau, a Cantonese opera playwright who rises to fame but struggles with personal and professional decline, as he recounts his life story to a narrator. Born in 1909 as the 13th son of a Chinese government official, Kong gives up a promising medical career to pursue his passion for the arts, eventually becoming famous and arrogant under the pen name "Mr. Thirteen". He continues to write for the Cantonese Opera, including anti-Japanese scripts, but ultimately faces rejection and struggles with mental health.
