Geumul

A poor North Korean fisherman, Nam Chul-woo (Ryoo Seung-bum), is accidentally defected and finds himself groomed to be a spy by an ambitious South Korean military officer. After initial torture and interrogation, Nam's strong indoctrination causes him to resist, leading to a series of pivotal moments, including a suicide attempt and a confrontation with a prostitute who had been beaten by her pimp. Ultimately, Nam is released and returns home, only to face further persecution and ultimately meet a tragic end.
