In the swirling landscape of post-Soviet Belarus, a young DJ named Velya dares to dream big, seeking to escape the countryside and electrify the dance floors of Chicago. But as bureaucracy and fate conspire against her, Velya's pursuit of stardom is tested by the very human obstacles that threaten to upend her plans. A poignant drama that explores the complexities of female ambition in a nation on the cusp of change, "Crystal Swan" shines with a tender intensity that belies its genre-bending action and electronic beats.
