In 1987, Carol White's seemingly idyllic suburban life disintegrates when she falls ill with a mysterious condition that leaves her convinced that everyday chemicals are the culprit. As doctors fail to diagnose or treat her, and her community remains indifferent to her suffering, Carol embarks on a perilous journey towards an alternative solution: a New Age retreat called Wrenwood.
