In the hauntingly beautiful animated biopic "Josep," director Aurel brings to life the story of Josep Bartolí, a Catalan cartoonist who fought against Franco's regime in Spain and found refuge in France. Trapped in a concentration camp, Josep befriends an unlikely companion, a French gendarme who secretly provides him with art supplies. As he eventually makes his way to New York and Mexico, Josep finds love and inspiration among the vibrant artists of his new home, including the legendary Frida Kahlo.
