Ugly, Dirty and Bad

Nino Manfredi stars as Giacinto, a one-eyed patriarch who lives with his large and poverty-stricken Apulian family in a shack on the outskirts of Rome. He keeps hidden from them the sum of money he received after losing an eye at work, which has become his sole source of comfort amidst their constant scheming and abuse. After falling in love with an obese prostitute, Giacinto's enraged wife plots against him, but he survives the attempt on his life, leading to a series of chaotic events that ultimately bring about a reconciliation between him and his family.
