Savannah

"Savannah" is a 2013 American historical family drama film directed by Annette Haywood-Carter, who also wrote the screenplay. The movie tells the true story of Ward Allen, played by Jim Caviezel, a romantic and bombastic character who rejects his plantation heritage for the freedom of life on a river, accompanied by his friend Christmas Moultrie, portrayed by Chiwetel Ejiofor. As Ward navigates early 20th century America's societal norms, he faces challenges in his relationships with those around him, including his wife Lucy Stubbs, played by Jaimie Alexander, and her disapproving father, Mr. Stubbs, played by Sam Shepard.
