Wishin' and Hopin'

Felix Funicello (Wyatt Ralff) is a Catholic school fifth-grader in 1964 whose life becomes chaotic with the arrival of substitute teacher Madame Frechette (Molly Ringwald) and feisty Russian student Zhenya Kabakova. As Christmas approaches, Felix navigates cultural misunderstandings, learns new things from his experiences, and finds his place in his small town of Three Rivers, Connecticut. The story is narrated in the present day by Adult Felix (Chevy Chase).
