Eleven-year-old Davey Osborne lives in San Antonio, Texas, struggling to cope with his mother's recent death and his father's emotional detachment. His only escape is a fantasy world where he imagines himself as Cloak & Dagger, an espionage role-playing video game character who becomes a real-life guide for him when he stumbles upon top-secret government information hidden in a video game cartridge. With the help of his friend Kim and a mysterious ally named Jack Flack, Davey must navigate a treacherous world of spies, murder, and betrayal to uncover the truth about the cartridge and save his friend from harm.
