Selma

The film "Selma" tells the story of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s efforts to secure federal legislation allowing black citizens to register to vote unencumbered in Selma, Alabama. With President Lyndon B. Johnson's support, King leads a march from Selma to Montgomery, where he delivers a speech on the steps of the State Capitol. Annie Lee Cooper, Coretta Scott King, and other activists face harassment and violence as they fight for their rights, while Governor George Wallace speaks out against the movement.
