The dawn of the 20th century: a luxurious and traditional brothel in Paris, L'Apollonide, is living its last days, where women share their secrets, fears, joys, and pains within a closed world where men fall in love or become viciously harmful. The film follows a group of girls caught up in the most vicious of circles, working for Madame Marie-France, who expects them to entertain her paymasters in any way they want, mired in debt with no escape. It's a dangerous and restricted life, where the women are not just objects, but strong, intelligent beings, whose stories are told through an atmospheric and introspective lens, lingering like the languid days it depicts.
