The Sadist

In this low-budget thriller, three high school teachers are held captive by a psychopathic spree killer and his girlfriend in a junkyard on the side of California's Antelope Valley road. As they try to survive their ordeal, Charlie Tibbs, a young man with a penchant for violence and a Colt .45, torments them with verbal and physical abuse, leaving no doubt about his sadistic nature. The film's tense atmosphere is heightened by its use of handheld photography, which adds to the sense of realism and immediacy, as the trio desperately tries to outsmart their killers and escape their deadly trap.
