Lola Montès

Martine Carol stars as Lola Montez, a former great adventuress reduced to being the attraction of a circus after her various affairs with important men. The film depicts her life, including her relationship with composer Franz Liszt and her time as mistress to King Ludwig I of Bavaria. After being showcased in New Orleans as a courtesan and dancer in the 1850s, Lola's story is brought to life through elaborate tableaux vivants and acted scenes, recounting her childhood, youth, and subsequent rise to fame.
