Last Exit to Brooklyn

In 1950s Brooklyn, a gallery of characters are crushed by their surroundings and selves: union strike leader Harry Black struggles with his new role as secretary, while prostitute Tralala falls in love with one of her clients; Big Joe confronts his daughter's illegitimate pregnancy, and a young transgender woman harbors a crush on a local pimp. Set amidst industrial turmoil, this potpourri of stories focuses on the diversity that existed in 1950s NYC, following interlocking storylines among the working class underbelly of the Red Hook neighborhood.
