In this gritty drama, a passionate high school teacher in New York City takes on the toughest challenge of his life: a group of rough-around-the-edges teenagers ruled by gangs and violence. Armed with nothing but his love of poetry, he dares to challenge their world, offering them an alternative path that's as unlikely as it is compelling. Will his words be enough to break the cycle of violence, or will they prove too much for these hardened young souls?
