The Ride Back

"The Ride Back" is a 1957 American Western film that tells the story of Sheriff Chris Hamish (William Conrad), a troubled lawman who tries to extradite charismatic gunfighter Bob Kallen (Anthony Quinn) from Mexico to stand trial for murder in Scottsville, Texas. As they journey together, Hamish must confront his own failures and redemption, while Kallen's confidence and charisma are contrasted with the lawman's desperation. Along the way, they face danger from bloodthirsty Apaches and an orphaned child whose family has been murdered by the same tribe.
