Winter Nomads

In the Swiss-French region, two shepherds, Pascal and Carole, embark on a four-month winter transhumance, braving 600km of unforgiving terrain in search of a fleeting haven for their flock of sheep. Armed with nothing but canvas coverings and animal skins, they face the elements day after day, forging an unflinching bond with nature that will be tested by surprise encounters, treacherous weather, and the passage of time. As they traverse this harsh landscape, they also navigate a world of diminishing rural traditions and nostalgic memories, capturing the essence of a profession both beautiful and exacting.
