Distant Thunder

The film "Distant Thunder" (1988) tells the story of Mark Lambert, a troubled ex-Navy SEAL and Vietnam War veteran, played by John Lithgow, who returns home after 10 years to find his now-teenage son Jack, played by Ralph Macchio, has grown up without him. As an estranged father and recluse, Mark struggles to cope with the changes in his life and realizes he has caused more damage than he had imagined.
