A family from a small Texas town must come to grips with the accidental death of their matriarch during a clandestine meeting in a motel room, leading to a dysfunctional funeral that exposes their own demons and dark secrets. The film, written and directed by Del Shores, is based on his 1996 play about a Texas family's sordid lives, shot digitally and transferred to 35mm film on a $500,000 budget. With a cast that includes Olivia Newton-John, Beau Bridges, and Beth Grant, the movie premiered at the Palm Beach International Film Festival in 2000 and later gained cult status despite negative reviews from critics.
