In a stunning turnaround, a college football team is forced to start the season from scratch after being disqualified for cheating and poor grades. The once-powerful Fighting Armadillos must rebuild their roster without athletic scholarships, leading to an unorthodox team of mostly non-traditional players, including a 34-year-old high school star who never attended college and a women's soccer player forced to kick field goals in the rain. Amidst the chaos, romance blossoms between the team's quarterback and his former flame, a professor who becomes embroiled in a scandal involving corruption and academic tampering.
