Watch on the Rhine

On the eve of World War II, German Kurt Müller (Paul Lukas) and his American-born wife Sara (Bette Davis), along with their three children, visit Sara's wealthy mother in Washington, D.C., but Kurt secretly works for the anti-Nazi resistance. A visiting Romanian count seeks to blackmail him, putting Sara and her family at risk. As tensions rise, Sara must navigate her loyalty to her husband and country while Kurt faces danger from his past, threatening the Mullers' quest for peaceful sanctuary on American soil.
