Slack Bay

Summer, 1910, finds Inspectors Machin (Didier Després) and Malfoy (Cyril Rigaux) investigating the mysterious disappearances of tourists on the beaches of Slack Bay, where a strange community of fishermen lives. A confluence of the sea and the Slack river leads them to a confrontation between two families: the wealthy Van Peteghems, who are visiting their summer mansion, and the Bruforts, fisherfolk with an unusual diet. Ma Loute Brufort (Brandon Lavieville), the eldest son of the Bruforts, falls in love with Billie, the eldest van Peteghem girl, but her true nature shocks him, leading to a series of events that ultimately brings the families together.
