Straw Dogs

A young couple's idyllic getaway in rural Mississippi turns into a living hell when dark secrets and lethal passions spiral out of control. In this remake of Sam Peckinpah's 1971 film, David Sumner (James Marsden) and his actress wife Amy (Kate Bosworth) relocate to the small town of Blackwater, where they're met with hostility by Amy's ex-boyfriend Charlie (Alexander Skarsgård) and his friends. As tension builds, the couple finds themselves trapped in a web of harassment, manipulation, and ultimately, brutal violence. When David is away, Charlie and his crew orchestrate a series of gruesome events, including two devastating rapes that leave Amy traumatized. As David tries to protect her, he's forced to confront the dark underbelly of the town's machismo culture and the men who embody it.
