That's What I Am

A coming-of-age story that follows 12-year-old Andy Nichol, a bright student who, like most kids his age, will do anything to avoid conflict for fear of suffering overwhelming ridicule and punishment from his junior high school peers. Set in one of the Jefferson Middle Schools of California in 1965, the film follows a story of unlikely friendship between Andy and the school's reject, Stanley "Big G" Minor, as they navigate the complexities of adolescence and confront issues of tolerance and acceptance.
