In a harrowing tale of survival and deception, "Persian Lessons" follows Gilles, a Belgian Jew forced to flee his home by Nazi soldiers, as he assumes the identity of a Persian to avoid execution. In a concentration camp, Gilles is assigned a mission to teach German Deputy Commandant Koch the Persian language in exchange for his life, leading to an ingenious game of cat and mouse between Gilles and Koch. With the help of invented words and clever mnemonics, Gilles manages to stay one step ahead of his captors, all while holding onto his humanity in the face of unimaginable cruelty.
