Frozen River

In the chilling drama "Frozen River," two desperate mothers team up to smuggle undocumented immigrants from Canada into the United States across the frozen St. Lawrence River in rural New York State. Ray Eddy (Melissa Leo) and Lila Littlewolf (Misty Upham), a trailer park dweller and Mohawk woman, respectively, navigate the treacherous landscape of poverty, exploitation, and border control to raise money for their struggling families.
