Sans Soleil

A woman's voiceover guides the viewer through a collection of images and scenes from around the world, including Japan, Guinea-Bissau, Iceland, and San Francisco. The film is composed of documentary footage shot by Chris Marker, interwoven with stock footage, clips from Japanese movies and shows, and excerpts from other films. Narrator Florence Delay (voice) reads letters supposedly sent to her by fictional cameraman Sandor Krasna, adding a layer of poetic narration to the film's exploration of human memory and perception.
