Rwanda

"Rwanda" is a 2018 Italian film directed by Riccardo Salvetti that tells the true story of the Rwandan genocide. The movie follows two white Italian actors, Marco Cortesi and Aaron T. Maccarthy, who play Black Rwandans in a fact-based tale. Augustin, played by Marco Cortesi, is a young Hutu operaio who is forced to participate in the massacres, while Cecile, played by Rosanna Sparapano, is a Tutsi school teacher. The film is based on a theatrical performance and features over 480 extras from 24 African countries, including Rwandese citizens who played key roles during the genocide.
