Bread, Love and Dreams

In the 1953 Italian romantic comedy film "Bread, Love and Dreams," Marshal Antonio Carotenuto (Vittorio De Sica) arrives in the small town of Sagliena and becomes entangled in a love triangle between two women: Pizzicarella la Bersagliera (Gina Lollobrigida), a young local girl secretly in love with carabiniere Stelluti, and Annarella Mirziano (Marisa Merlini), the town's midwife. As Carotenuto navigates this complicated web of relationships, he must also adapt to his new life in the quiet village.
