The Submarine Kid

When Spencer Koll, a United States Marine, returns home from a horrific wartime experience, his mundane reality leads him to gravitate towards a new and mysterious woman on her own determined journey. Together, they enter into a magical but destructive new relationship that ultimately exposes their essential truths. As Spencer struggles to bring himself back into a normal life, he is haunted by the ghosts of his past, including a traumatic event from his time in combat. With each near-drowning attempt to join his lost love, Alice - revealed as the ghost of the Submarine Kid's girlfriend - tries to discourage Spencer's self-destructive behavior, ultimately leading him towards healing and redemption.
