Pandora and the Flying Dutchman

Pandora Reynolds (Ava Gardner), an alluring American nightclub singer and femme fatale, is a woman who has never fallen in love – but one who men kill and die for. When she meets dashing and mysterious ship's captain Hendrik van der Zee (James Mason), he pushes her to commit the ultimate act of love. Geoffrey Fielding (Nigel Patrick), an English archaeologist, becomes entangled in their lives as they uncover the legend of the Flying Dutchman, a 16th-century ship captain who murdered his wife and is doomed to sail the seas for eternity unless he finds a woman who loves him enough to die for him.
