The Wise Little Hen

The Wise Little Hen is a 1934 animated short film featuring the debut of Donald Duck, who dances to "The Sailor's Hornpipe". The Little Hen, voiced by Florence Gill, is looking for help planting corn and enlists the assistance of Peter Pig and Donald Duck. However, both Peter and Donald fake stomach aches to avoid work, but are discovered when boards from their clubhouse fall off as they shake hands. Eventually, Mrs. Hen teaches them the value of labor, cooking up a tasty assortment of corn dishes that she shares with her chicks before offering Peter and Donald some, which proves to be castor oil instead.
