"Mainstream" follows struggling young filmmaker Frankie (Maya Hawke) who achieves success after meeting up with Link (Andrew Garfield), a charismatic stranger living off the grid. As their collaboration grows, so does their influence on social media, but the dark side of viral celebrity threatens to ruin them both. A romantic relationship blossoms between Frankie and Link, but infighting and deceit surface as they lose their grip on reality.
