In the midst of Chile's tumultuous 1986, a forbidden love blossoms between a middle-aged transvestite, "the Queen of the Corner", and young Carlos, a guerrilla member of the Manuel Rodríguez Patriotic Front, amidst gunshots and boleros. As their relationship deepens, Carlos brings "the Queen" into his revolutionary world, but she begins to question her own identity and purpose. The film is a poignant portrayal of love, identity, and resistance during Chile's Pinochet regime, based on Pedro Lemebel's 2001 novel of the same name.
