The Last Word

Winona Ryder plays Charlotte Morris, the free-spirited sister of Evan's deceased client, whom Evan meets at the funeral and later romantically pursues after lying about their relationship. Evan Merck (Wes Bentley), an odd but gifted poet who makes his living writing suicide notes, finds himself falling for Charlotte but struggles to reveal his true profession due to her curiosity about how he knew her brother. Meanwhile, Evan's new client Abel (Ray Romano) is a sarcastic music composer whose career has been reduced to making jingles for phone messages.
