La via dei babbuini is a 1974 Italian film about Fiorenza, a young Roman bourgeois, who travels to Eritrea to care for her dying father, a former colonialist. After his death, she decides to stay in Africa and meets the extravagant Getulio, with whom she begins to explore the continent's mystery. As Fiorenza delves deeper into the African wilderness, she is accompanied by her husband Orazio, who tries to tear her away from the continent. Ultimately, after the tragic death of Getulio, Fiorenza embarks on a journey towards the savannah, following the path of the baboons in search of their true nature.
