In 1957, engineer Faber's life is turned upside down when his plane crashes in Mexico, where he discovers he has a daughter he never knew about. As he navigates a complex web of coincidences and fate, he finds himself falling for a beautiful young woman, Elisabeth Piper, whom he meets on an ocean liner bound for France.
