The Deal

Charlie Berns (William H. Macy) is a struggling Hollywood producer who meets his idealistic screenwriter nephew Lionel and decides to give his career one final shot. He partners with Meg Ryan's character Deidre Hearn, a sharp-witted studio executive, to bring his nephew's script to life as an action-adventure film about 19th-century British statesman Benjamin Disraeli. The production is plagued by challenges, but Charlie and Deidre find themselves drawn to each other, leading to a romance that helps them overcome their professional and personal struggles.
