The film follows César Faz as he moves to Monterrey, Mexico, and meets local children, including pitcher Ángel Macías (Jake T. Austin), who convinces him to help recruit and coach a Little League team. With the support of Padre Esteban and later Frankie, the team, nicknamed "Los pequeños gigantes" (The little giants), becomes competitive and wins the 1957 Little League World Series, with Ángel Macías pitching a perfect game against West La Mesa, California.
