In "The Diam Diam Era", director Jack Neo explores the complex dynamics of a generation gap between those born in the 1950s and their successors as they navigate Singapore's tumultuous politics and policies from the 1980s onwards. Against the backdrop of major reforms, including the forced closure of Chinese schools and the elite system, the Lim family - led by Mark Lee and Henry Thia - must confront their own differences as a second-generation generation grapples with a rapidly changing world.
