The Carabineers

The Carabineers tells the story of two poor men, Ulysses and Michel-Ange (Patrice Moullet), who are recruited to serve in battle by unscrupulous soldiers promising them riches and freedom from consequence. Their wives, Venus (Geneviève Galéa) and Cleopatre (Catherine Ribeiro), encourage them to fight, leading the two men on a destructive path across battlefields and villages. The pair's exploits are recounted through postcards sent to their wives, which serve as a commentary on the horrors of war and the disillusionment of idealism.
