The Fifth Estate

The Fifth Estate tells the complex and troubled story of the early relationship between Julian Assange's editor-in-chief and founder, and his former spokesperson Daniel Domscheit-Berg, as WikiLeaks grew in influence and controversy. Through a series of tense confrontations and philosophical debates, the film reveals how the two friends' differing values and visions for the website ultimately led to an irreparable rift. As WikiLeaks became embroiled in high-stakes battles over freedom of information and national security, Domscheit-Berg found himself increasingly at odds with Assange's abrasive tactics and questionable motives.
